Description |
New York Herald, September 13, 1898 "Never before has such an army of golfers invaded any locality in this country for a tournament, and it is doubtful if the old country can boast of many such outpourings as will be seen on the Morris County Links today. The first pair will be sent off at half past seven o'clock this morning and the pairs will follow at four minute intervals. It will take four hours to get all the contestants who have entered off on their first round and the second round will take the same amount of time, so there will be an unbroken stream of golfers for eight hours driving off from the first tee. There may be a list of withdrawals from the list of 120, but over 100 are expected to complete the entire 36 holes." |
